Little White Lies Issue 77

Little White Lies was established in 2005 as a bi-monthly print magazine committed to championing great movies and the talented people who make them.

Issue 77 of Little White Lies pays tribute to Alfonso Cuarón’s personal ode to movies, Mexico and the woman who made him a man. Also in this issue: the story of monochrome movie-making, production design in cinema, and reviews of more than a dozen movies.

Alfonso Cuarón’s ROMA has been garnering rave reviews — if you’ve got Netflix you’ve probably already seen the preview of this trending movie, if not the movie itself. The movie narrates the story of a maid working for a well-off family in Mexico City in the early 1970s. This issue of LWLies explores the hours of preparation and self-examination that go into the production of a personal epic. Following an in-depth interview with Cuarón, the issue takes a look at other works of the filmmaker as well, including GRAVITY for which the director won an Academy Award.
