Traditionally, in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India, a weaver was linked to a group of Rabari nomad families and was called a Rakhiyo. This throw, lightweight and crafted on a handloom, is inspired by the shawls woven for these nomadic communities.
The throw is made with kala cotton yarn that is hand spun by the women of rural Kutch and woven by master artisans on a traditional Bhujodi pit loom. Handcrafted by the Vankars of Bhujodi.
From the KACHCHH collection — The Calico Guild’s KACHCHH collection pays homage to the region and people of Kutch and are a product of a combination of crafts.
