Skip the G&T — here are three recipes for classier gin cocktails

Gin’s been having a bit of a moment this year — a slew of homegrown brands have graced the Indian market and menus are becoming more inclusive of the spirit — which is just to say that we couldn’t be happier. It’s only fitting then that we say sayonara to 2018 with some flair.

We got Rahul Mehra, one of the founders of the brand-new Stranger & Sons (you may want to read our interview with him here), to share recipes for his favourite gin cocktails. At your year-end parties, these are sure to impress — the first is on the sweeter side, the second’s a twist on the martini, and the third’s an old-fashioned classic that’s decidedly modern. Gin-Gin!

Hanky Panky
Ingredients:
30ml Stranger & Sons gin
30ml sweet vermouth
10ml Fernet Branca

Preparation:
Stir over ice. Strain and pour in a glass. Garnish with an orange rind.

The Gibson
Ingredients:
60ml Stranger & Sons gin
10-15ml dry vermouth

Preparation:
Stir over ice. Strain and pour in a glass. Drop a cocktail onion in the glass.

Last word
Ingredients:
20ml Stranger & Sons Gin
20ml maraschino liqueur
20ml green chartreuse
20ml lime juice

Preparation:
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain and pour in a glass. Drop in a brandied cherry.
